At just 180m long, Banana Rock Beach is one of the smallest beaches on Phuket, but at the same time is one of the most beautiful. Despite its beauty, it is one of the least popular beaches on the island, simply because so few people are aware of its existence.

Located between the beaches of Nai Thon and Bang Tao, should you decide to venture to Banana Beach, you’ll be rewarded by a bella vista of golden sand and crystal clear water.

As a result of the limited number of people who visit Banana Beach and the difficulty in spotting it from the road because of the trees that line the road, those who do make the effort will be rewarded with the sense that they have discovered a hidden beach and uncovered a gem that is all theirs.

Given the secluded nature of the beach, you won’t find Banana Beach covered in sun beds like you might at other spots on the island.

If lying on the sand doesn’t appeal to you, don’t despair as sun beds are still available. Beds and umbrellas can be rented from Khun Jan who operates at the southern end of the beach.

In the high season months between November and May, Khun Jan also has a longtail boat which can be rented out to explore the neighbouring bays.

When hunger strikes, there is a small seafood restaurant at the southern end of the beach, also owned by Khun Jan, offering the chance to dine on the sand at one of the most picturesque spots on Phuket.

Away from lying down and soaking up the sun, swimming in the sea and having massages are the other ways to pass the time on Banana Beach.

Swimming is only recommended during the peak season months mentioned above, while a massage in the shade will set you back 300 baht; money well spent.

Because of its remoteness and deserted nature, there are no jet-skis at Banana Beach, adding to its appeal for many.
